The Smalls Family Case
Ed and Lorraine Warren's Most Terrifying Investigation
Ed and Lorraine Warren are the most famous names in the world of paranormal investigations. Together, they solved many haunting cases and even performed several exorcisms. But there was one case that even shook them—their last case, known as The Smalls Family Case.
A New Beginning in Pennsylvania
This story begins in 1973, in Pennsylvania, USA. Jack and Janet Small moved into an old duplex house with their two daughters. Their last home was destroyed in a hurricane flood. With new dreams and hope for a better life, they shifted to this new place. At first, everything seemed fine. Within a few months, Jack even got a promotion at work, and he decided to renovate the house.
The Renovation Nightmare Begins
But as soon as the repairs started, strange things began to happen. Tools and equipment used for renovation would vanish and then reappear in the same place later. In one room, black stains appeared on the walls. Jack painted over them many times, but within days the stains always came back.
The lights flickered on their own. One evening, while Jack was watching TV, the television suddenly caught fire, as if someone had thrown a bomb at it. He called electricians to check the wiring, but they never found any problem.
Impossible Electronics
Late at night, the family's radio once started playing at full volume. Jack, angry, thought his daughters were behind it. But when he went to the living room, he saw the radio playing on its own—even though it wasn't even plugged in.
This happened again and again. The TV and radio would turn on by themselves at full volume while unplugged. Doors and cabinets opened on their own. The temperature of the house would suddenly drop, and even in the summer heat, the family felt icy cold inside.
Mysterious Voices and Shadows
When their bedroom bathroom was renovated, the very next day Janet found deep scratch marks all over the walls, as if some animal had been trapped inside all night. Slowly, the couple started to feel uneasy in their own house.
Once, Janet thought she heard her mother-in-law calling her from the next room. But when she checked, her mother-in-law said she never called her. From then on, the family often felt like someone was calling them—but no one was ever there.
The Terror Escalates
One night, Jack and Janet heard their daughter screaming in fear. They rushed to her room and saw her sweating and terrified, pointing at the corner, saying someone was there—something scary, floating in the air. But Jack and Janet couldn't see anything. When they turned on the lights, the girl also stopped seeing it.
The next evening, while Janet was working in the kitchen, she felt a cold breeze. Thinking the window was open, she turned to close it—but it was already shut. When she turned back, she froze in fear. In the corner stood a black shadow, floating in the air. It had no face, but she felt like it was staring at her. The shadow slowly came closer, then passed through her and vanished into the wall.
The Entity Turns Violent
That same day, her mother-in-law also claimed to have seen the shadow. Soon, the black figure became a common sight in the house. Jack and Janet now knew that a spirit was living with them. At first, since it didn't seem harmful, they tried to live with it.
But things changed after the birth of their twin daughters. One day, Jack was sitting in the living room with his kids when he heard a strange cracking sound from the ceiling. Suddenly, the chandelier came crashing down. Luckily, no one was standing under it, or they wouldn't have survived.
Desperate Measures
Shaken, Jack went to church and told a priest everything. The priest performed a blessing ritual, and for a short time, the activity stopped. But soon, it started again—this time worse. Kitchen appliances caught fire, bulbs exploded, and family members often got hurt by flying objects.
The scariest moment came right after another blessing ritual. The family's dog suddenly went wild, barking and struggling, and before their eyes, the dog was lifted into the air and thrown against the wall. It was badly injured. This incident convinced the family that the spirit now wanted to harm them.
Many priests came and performed blessings, but nothing worked. Jack asked for an exorcism, but since he had no proof, the church refused permission. He had already spent a lot of money on the house and couldn't find a buyer, so they were trapped.
Years passed, and their suffering never ended—until someone told them about Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Will the Warrens be able to save the Smalls family?
